Underglazed red is one of the traditional Chinese underglaze decoration. It depicts various patternsin the green body using pigment that Bronze as coloring agent, then applies transparent glaze at high temperatures reducing gas, for it appers red patterns in the glaze, it is named underglaze red.

The ornement is hand painted eight treasures pattern. the lucky "Eight Treasures," which symbolically represent that the sea is the source of all treasure houses. There are different variations for these Eight Treasures depending on whether they have Buddhist or Taoist meanings. Here the ornament has the Buddhist meanings of good luck.
